SPbPU gets grant for “Days of Russian Language and Culture”

SPbPU won the competition of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation for grants in 2023 for the implementation of measures of the state program of the Russian Federation «Development of Education», aimed at the full functioning and development of the Russian language. The aim of the project is to hold «Days of Russian language and culture» in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire and the Republic of Senegal, aimed at the popularization of the Russian language, Russian education and culture in Africa.

More than 50 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and the states of West Africa. During these years our countries have accumulated considerable experience of communication and cooperation in various fields. The states of the African continent have a unique human capital, the basis of which consists of specialists educated in Soviet (Russian) universities, who know the Russian language and have a favorable attitude toward our country.

Russian education is highly valued in Africa. Thus, in these countries there is a great interest in the Russian language and culture, a desire for educational cooperation with Russia. Moreover, there are people who are ready to take an active part in this cooperation, in particular the Association of Graduates of Russian Universities, representatives of African universities and the public.
