Nippon Paint announces the Winners of the AYDA International Edition 2022/23
Launched in 2008 and successfully bringing together over 1,200 educational
institutions from across the world, AYDA Awards by Nippon Paint India concluded the international
edition for the year 2022-23 in Vietnam. Tsai, Pei-Chi from Taiwan, and Arya Putra from Indonesia
were crowned as ‘Designer of the Year’ in the Architecture and Interior design category respectively.
The theme for this edition of the AYDA Awards ‘Converge: Pushing the Rest Button’ saw over 5184
entries from 15 countries, making the initiative a grand success.
Shivam Singh and Vaibhav Dalvi, the finalists from India under the Interior Design and Architecture
categories, presented their projects at a global forum in person, promoting culture and craftsmanship.
Their projects also highlighted the importance of adapting sustainable practices in architecture. This
platform posed an opportunity to improve networking in the architect community.
The esteemed panel of judges were impressed by the outstanding projects and innovative ideas
showcased by every participant. The title holders were granted a fully funded three-week course
valued at up to USD 10,000 to participate in Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design’s Design
Discovery Programme. This program offers a valuable opportunity for the winners to enhance their
skills and expand their horizons, furthering their pursuit of excellence in their respective industries.
During the International award ceremony, the Nippon Paint community initiative presented additional
accolades, including the Nippon Paint Colour Award, Best Sustainable Design Award, and Best Design
Impact Award. Each winner in these categories also received a cash prize of USD 1,000.
Commenting on the event, Mr. S Mahesh Anand, President – Decorative Paint, Nippon Paint (India)
expressed his delight, stating, “We are thrilled to witness yet another year of triumph for the AYDA
awards. It brings us immense joy to see the competition’s continuous growth and its positive impact
on young designers. We witness more sustainable and innovative projects being brought to the

earned the title.”
Arya Putra, who emerged as Designer of the Year in the Interior Design category expressed his
gratitude, stating, “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Nippon Paint for providing me with
this wonderful opportunity to be a part of the AYDA journey. It fills me with pride to be recognized and
win the award at this platform among established architects and designers. I am truly grateful to the
esteemed jury members for their valuable feedback on my project, which has been an unmatched
learning experience.”
