Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme organised

 

Aligarh : The Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with the Department of Moalejat, organized a Pharmacovigilance awareness programme on 25 July. The objective of the programme was to promote Pharmacovigilance and instill a reporting culture among participants.

A lecture on the “Basics of Pharmacovigilance” was delivered by Dr Farooq Ahmad Dar, Chairperson Department of Munafeul Aza, who familiarized the attendees with the objectives of Pharmacovigilance, stressing the importance of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting and offering practical guidance on reporting ADR incidents.

Dr Jamal Azmat and Dr. S. Javed Ali, Assistant Professors in the Department of Moalejat, along with other faculty members and around 60 Postgraduate scholars, actively participated in the event.

The event was led by Prof Tabassum Latafat, Chairperson Department of Moalejat, Prof Tanzeel Ahmad, Coordinator PPvC AKTC, and Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal A.KTC.

This initiative signifies A.K. Tibbiya College’s commitment to fostering drug safety and ensuring the well-being of patients through effective Pharmacovigilance practices.
