DPS Indirapuram Hosts ‘G20 Spectacula’ to Foster Global Awareness and Unity Among Students
DPS Indirapuram successfully hosted its first-ever ‘G20 Spectacula’ event from 25th August 2023 through the week. The event was organised to promote global awareness and unity among the students, aligning with the theme ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ of the G20 summit. Students from Classes 3 to 8 participated in various competitions and workshops designed to educate, inspire, and engage them on global issues.
The event was graced by esteemed Chief Guests, Ms. Shilpa Sharma and Mr. Matthias Dunnwald from the BKD team, who appreciated DPS Indirapuram’s efforts in nurturing global citizens and instilling a sense of environmental consciousness. The week-long event featured a plethora of informative and insightful activities that aimed to create awareness about the G20 agendas and their significance in global growth. Various G20 agendas, such as “Zero Hunger” and “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure”, were discussed in line with Sustainable Development Goals.
The students of different classes participated in a number of activities, including the ‘Intra-Class Collage Making’ and ‘Drawing and Colouring’ competitions, the G20 Poster Making Activity, the Slogan Writing Competition, the English Declamation Competition, etc. Students showcased their creativity and awareness of the G20’s role in fostering international cooperation. Class V students experienced a captivating assembly with a choir presenting the self-composed song ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ symbolising the oneness of humanity.
Ms. Priya E. John, Principal, DPS Indirapuram, delivered an inspiring address to the students, stating, “I truly appreciate the active participation of our students in the ‘G20 Spectacula’ event and the significance of G20 in fostering unity and collaboration among nations. The event provided an enriching platform for our students to learn about G20’s logo, theme, participating nations, and India’s G20 Presidency. Witnessing the enthralling dance performance that left everyone in awe, I couldn’t be more proud of our student’s creativity and talent. Let us continue to nurture a global perspective, fostering a sense of unity and responsibility as we strive to create a brighter and more harmonious world.”
