Two AMU alumni bring laurels to their alma mater
ALIGARH : Two former students of the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University have brought laurels to the university through their global academic achievements. Faham Ahmad Khan completed his LLM from the globally acclaimed University of Cambridge in July 2023, while Mohd Zeeshan Ahmad has been awarded the prestigious Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship (MGOS) for the academic session 2023-24 to pursue LLM at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK.
Shri Hemant Soren, Chief Minister, Jharkhand felicitated Mr Ahmad with the scholarship certificate and a memento.
Mohd Zeeshan Ahmad, who belongs to Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), said it would have been a distant dream for him to pursue a postgraduate course at SOAS if the Jharkhand government had not granted the scholarship.
Zeeshan completed his BALLB from AMU in 2020 and did LLM from the Azim Premji University, Bengaluru in 2022-23.
He writes columns for The Wire and for some law-exclusive portals and has published research papers in academic journals of repute, including the Indian Journal of Public Administration published by Sage. He is also one of the editors of a portal, Parichay, dedicated to Citizenship studies.
Both Faham and Zeeshan have expressed gratitude to their teachers for mentoring them to achieve success in life.
