North-West University Vanderbijlpark Campus’s landscaping wins honour
Rothe Plantscapers’ landscaping on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus recently scored the garden maintenance company a silver award at the South African Landscape Institute’s (SALI’s) Awards of Excellence ceremony.
As a principal member of the institute, Rothe Plantscapers submitted the Vanderbijlpark Campus as an entry, and their outstanding landscaping work earned them the award for their exemplary performance within the 75% to 84% range.
Additionally, they earned a Merit Water Wise point of 60% to 69% for their landscape and turf maintenance services.
Mmabore Masiela from the campus commended Rothe Plantscapers for their excellent work maintaining the campus grounds, and said the accolade reflects the tireless efforts of the staff and contractors involved.
“Their beautiful landscaping has significantly impacted the well-being of students, staff, and the surrounding community. The well-maintained gardens and green spaces provide a serene environment for relaxation and reflection, and enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the campus.”
Rothe Plantscapers spokesperson Lerato Mahlophe says they have a three-year contract to maintain the campus which spans a large area. “Our team has successfully managed to improve the site within a year, earning us the silver award. This accolade is a great accomplishment, especially since it was the first entry for the NWU. We are now even more motivated to work hard and aim for gold.”
