Central University of Tamil Nadu’s English Department Empowers Young Minds at Panchayat Union Primary School, Neelakudi

Thiruvarur: The English Department at the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) as part of its outreach activity organised a workshop at the Language Laboratory for the students of the Panchayat Union Primary School, Neelakudi, to improve their language skills and nurturing creativity.

Under the expert guidance of the Vice Chancellor Prof M. Krishnan, the Department of English conducted an array of engaging activities, including word games and puzzles meticulously designed to enhance the students’ vocabulary and language skills. Adding to the collaborative spirit of the event, second-year postgraduate students from CUTN actively participated, providing valuable assistance and mentorship to the young learners.

The faculty of the English Department, including Dr. Geetha, Prof. Selvam, Prof. Abraham, Dr. Indra, Dr. Boopathi, Dr. Punnya, and Dr. Suganya, collectively gifted each student a Drawing kit with colours and sketch pens. Dr. Geetha HOD of the English department contributed 31 books to the school library.

The workshop for the government school students was jointly organised by Dr. B.J. Geetha, the Head of the English Department at CUTN, Ms. Punithavalli, headmistress of the school and Dr. Suganya along with various faculty of the English department.
