NMIT hosted its 1st International IEEE conference on ‘Networks, Multimedia and Information Technology (NMITCON 2023)’

The primary goal of NMITCON 2023 is to promote research and developmental activities in Network, Multimedia and Information Technology. It also aims to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. The conference provided an exceptional opportunity for deliberation of latest trends and technologies in the design, application and development of Information Technology.
The landmark event featured a range of defining speeches, panel discussions, and paper presentations – all focused on the latest trends and developments in Information Technology. Authors from countries including the USA, the UK, and Germany, and also from premier Institutions like IISc., IITs, IIITs and NITs presented their papers at this Conference.
While inaugurating the conference, the Chief Guest, Dr. T. G. Sitharaman, Chairman, AICTE, said, “We are in an exciting time in the Digital era and the world is changing thanks to disruptive innovation. Through NEP 2020, India has taken a resolution to improve the research and innovation sector with a student centric focus. In the era of innovative technology, institutes play pivotal roles in upskilling the students with vocational skills. We continue to encourage technical institutes like NMIT to excel in STEM areas and drive technological advancements among students.”

Also marking the occasion was the inauguration of the AICTE-IDEA lab by Dr. T. G. Sitharaman. The focus of the lab is to encourage students to apply Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fundamentals on ideas for enhanced hands-on experience and even product development. The AICTE has sanctioned Rs. 15 lakh to NMIT to help establish the lab.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. H. C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT, said, “NMIT aims to create a forum for young researchers to find the potential research problems and prospects in their respective research areas. While we focus on Industry-Academia collaboration, we look forward to fostering connections, cultivating collaborations and spark new ideas among students.”
