AMU Faculty addresses Conference on Rural Tourism & Alternative Accommodation

 

Aligarh: Professor Sheeba Hamid, from the Department of Commerce at Aligarh Muslim University, delivered the keynote address at the three-day International Conference on “Rural Tourism & Alternative Accommodation: Perspectives and Challenges.” The conference took place from 1st to 3rd September at the Institute of Hotel. Management in Bhubaneshwar.

During her address, Professor Hamid emphasized the crucial role of accommodation facilities in tourism development. She highlighted the success of alternative accommodation options, such as home stays, farm stays, cottages, and camps, in the evolving hospitality industry. These options provide travelers with unique experiences, foster connections with local cultures, and offer more budget-friendly alternatives to traditional hotels.
