Teachers’ Day Celebrated with Fervour

 

Aligarh: The teachers’ day was celebrated with enthusiasm and fervour at various departments and institutions of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

The College of Nursing organized the function in the Multipurpose Hall where tributes were paid to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The teachers’ day is celebrated on his birth anniversary.

The Principal Prof. Dr. Farha Azmi appreciated the great services rendered by teachers who shape the future of pupils and make them succeed in life. She also talked about the life and services of Dr. Radhakrishnan.

Nandini Singh delivered a speech highlighting the great contributions of Dr. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India, while Saif Ali Siddiqui spoke about the importance of teachers in one’s life.

Mrs. Shivani Masih, as Co-curricular Committee head motivated the students for their overall development.

Mohd. Rehan and Zahida Parveen hosted the programme, while Dhwani Goel proposed a vote of thanks.

The AMU ABK Girls High School organized a teachers’ day function, with pomp and grandeur. The students presented beautiful handmade cards to the staff members, which was deeply appreciated.

The school assembly ground was beautifully decorated with flowers and festoons for the function and all the students attended the programme in uniform. The class rooms were also decorated by the students for the event.

The programme started with the Vice Principal, and the Teachers cutting the ribbon. Students from the primary section performed a play and dance.

The Vice Principal, Dr. Saba Hasan congratulated the staff members and praised the students for their performance.

At the AMU City Girls’ High School, the programme commenced with a special Assembly conducted by the students of X A & X B. Mehwish, a student of the school came dressed as Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

After the Assembly, the first four periods were taught by the student teachers. The teachers of the school judged their teaching skills on the points of discipline, content, confidence and blackboard summary. The Decoration of the classes was also judged on the basis of cleanliness, grace, and discipline.

The Teachers of the School also presented a cultural programme. Ms. Sahar Naqvi recited a self composed poem, while Ms. Ambreen Rehman sang a melodious Ghazal. Mr. Tariq Hafeez and Ms. Nazia Khan delivered speeches. Ms. Tanveer Jahan read a couplet and explained its meaning, while Ms. Asmita Chaudhary and Ms. Urooja Khan narrated stories.

Ms. Samar Zahid described the life of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. Mr. Zia-ul-Haq laid stress on the role of a teacher in the present scenario. Ms. Nazish Siddiqui recited a Nazm on teachers’ day. Mr. Ahmad Omar explained the role of teachers in the light of Islam. Ms. Kainat Farooq quoted a Hadith on the role of teachers. Ms. Daraksha Nayyar presented a self-composed poem. Ms. Sabiha Khan’s brief note was praiseworthy.

Ms. Tanveer Sultana and Ms. Pakeeza Khan also expressed their views. The riddles by Mr. Ismail Beg made everyone laugh. Ms. ZarreenNaaz’s soulful Ghazal went deep down in the hearts of the audience. Mr. Javed Akhtar, the Vice-Principal of the school shared his journey to the school. He said that a Teacher must be aware of the technological advancements as the benefits are innumerable. Ms. Saima Nadeem and Ms. Sana Shamshad conducted the programme.

Dr. MD. Alamgir, Principal of the School distributed mementos to the entire teaching staff. He motivated the teachers to be well-equipped with knowledge and show their love and affection to the students. “The teachers should be a role model, as they are the nation builders”, he said.
