Webinar held on Palestinian issue

ALIGARH  : The Department of West Asian and North African Studies, Aligarh Muslim University organized an international webinar on “Insights on the Global Movement for Palestinians Rights: Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions.”
Delivering a keynote address, Prof. Nandini Patel, Adjunct Professor of International Relations at Malawi School of Government, Africa and Chairperson, IPI, shed light on the critical aspects of the global movement.

She said, “The global BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement seeks to address Palestinian rights by non-violently pressuring Israel through boycotts, divestments, and sanctions. It draws inspiration from the anti-apartheid movement and aims to end Israeli occupation, secure equal rights, and promote Palestinian refugees’ right to return. The movement has gained global support but also faces controversy and criticism.”
