Amity University inks MoU with Sekisho Corporation Japan
Noida: It was a historic moment for Amity Education Group as Amity University signed an MoU with Sekisho Corporation Japan, marking the beginning of a new relationship between the two organizations, bearing testimony to the philosophy of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam”. The MoU was signed with an aim to establish the Japan Desk at Amity University, Noida Campus, which would enable the students to get placements in Japanese companies, thereby developing a talent pipeline at Amity campuses, since there is a high demand for young talent in Japanese companies. Sekisho Corporation, Japan, founded in 1908, began with the sales of petroleum products and the company is recruiting young talent who can work towards the growth of the company.
The Japanese delegation was led by Mr Mesaki Seki, President, Sekisho Corporation and the other members comprised of Mr. Kiyotoshi Araki, Corporate Planning Chief, Sekisho Corporation, Mr Masafumi Handa, Ms Do Thi Thu Thuy and Ms Eshna Sachdeva from Corporate Planning Team, Sekisho Corporation.
Under the MoU, Amity will provide the device and network environment as necessary and cooperate with Sekisho Corporation for the smooth functioning of the Japan Desk online. The Japan Desk will serve as a point of contact for Amity Students who want to find employment with Japanese companies. It will also serve as a point of contact for the Japanese companies that wish to hire Amity Students and will manage career-related events. In addition, it will help in facilitating the exchange programs with universities in Japan and promote Japanese language courses. Sekisho Corporation will provide relevant consultation for Amity Students who wish to work for Japanese companies and disclose related job information of those Japanese Companies. The company will also provide necessary assistance to the Japanese Companies or staffing agencies, who want to hire Amity Students after confirming the required skills and relevant field from which they want to hire. It will also be responsible for arranging interviews to facilitate the hiring process of the Japanese Companies while also helping Amity Students with the job-hunting activities.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mesaki Seki, President Sekisho Corporation, Japan, stated, “The warm welcome received at Amity is truly unique and special as I have never experienced such a grand and heartwarming welcome. In Japan 80% of the population goes to universities and only 20% go for jobs after school. The MoU signing ceremony is extremely significant and is of a large magnitude, marking the beginning of fostering close ties with India. Sekisho Corporation is looking forward to working closely with Amity University and nurture future leaders who can immensely contribute to the development of both the countries. Though, the partnership has been initiated in an online mode, we are looking forward to physically work with Amity students and build a fruitful association. Highlighting the significance of signing the MoU, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, stated, “In Indian culture guests are treated like Gods and therefore the presence of the esteemed dignitaries from Japan is extremely significant for us. For any relationship to nurture, the values between the two entities must be in sync and Amity shares a lot of common values with Sekisho Corporation. Amity has the passion of nurturing young talent, and this relationship will be highly successful since both organizations believe in giving back to the society. This is a visionary initiative by Sekisho Corporation and Amity which will lead to empowering both the organizations. Presenting an overview of the Amity Education Group, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, averred, “More than 250 Amity students have been placed at top Japanese Companies including Sekisho Group, Grape City, NEC, Yamaha and Fujistu, Honda and Hitachi. Amity and Sekisho share a common philosophy of contributing to the improvement of local society and life with a global perspective. Amity University offers training and consultancy to leading Japanese companies including Maruti Suzuki where Amity is training Graduates Engineering Trainees. Japanese is one of the most popular foreign business language taught at Amity across the programs and more than 1000 students at Amity are learning Japanese language. Presenting Amity Research and Innovation initiatives, Dr. W. Through this partnership we look forward to nurturing future global leaders who will make both the countries proud.”
The delegation took a round of the Central Library, Amity Innovation Incubator and Amity studio. Also present on the occasion were Dr. M.K. Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS, Amity Business School, Mr. Anjani Bhatnagar, Deputy Director, Amity Technical Placement Centre and other senior faculty members of Amity.
