Jammu and Kashmir: GDC Ramgarh organises Extension Lecture on ‘Non-Violence as a weapon in Freedom struggle’

 

SAMBA: Government Degree College Ramgarh on Friday organized an Extension Lecture on ‘Non-Violence as a weapon in Freedom Struggle’ to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. The event was held in continuation to the series of activities being organized by the College under the aegis of India’s Presidency in G20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event was organized under the guidance and coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College

Dr Shivali Choudhary, Department of Political Science was the Resource Person. She said that Gandhi Jayanti is an occasion to disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness. Non-violence and truth are inseparable and presuppose one another. She further added that We may never be strong enough to be entirely nonviolent in thought, word and deed.

Non-violence played a crucial role in the way in which India received its territory from the British. Gandhi Ji leadership of a successful decades-long nonviolent struggle for Indian independence

Prof. Risha Kumari, Convener of the event, said that Non Violence is the mightiest weapon devised by ingenuity of man. Nobody can make a better statement to define non violence other than our Father of Nation.

A large number of students as well as staff of the college participated in the event.

The faculty members present included Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Priya Sharma, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Paramjeet Kour and Dr. Sunil Kumar.
