Gesa Credit Union Proudly Sponsors WSU Creamery
The WSU Creamery and Gesa Credit Union are teaming up this fall in a bid to give hungry fans free Cougar Gold Cheese.
As part of the partnership, which will extend through the 2023 football season, Gesa is celebrating with a cheese-themed promotion that is launching this week in advance of the WSU football matchup with Wisconsin on Sept. 9. Gesa will bring a mobile food truck packed with Cougar Gold to share in Pullman and Spokane through mid September.
“Wisconsin may be the #1 cheese-producing state in the country, but I’m sure our fantastic partners at WSU can show them a thing or two about cheesemaking. Who doesn’t love Cougar Gold?” said Don Miller, president and CEO of Gesa Credit Union and a proud WSU alum. “Over the years, Gesa has been honored to grow our partnership with WSU and expand on the fun, innovative programs we bring Cougs across the state.”
The support from Gesa, as well as the Creamery’s sale of canned cheese and other highly acclaimed products, provides employment opportunities for WSU students and funds educational support for the university’s School of Food Science.
The highly visual Gesa food truck will be parked at the credit union’s Pullman location on Bishop Boulevard on Sept. 8 before moving to “Cougville,” the gameday gathering spot for Coug fans alongside Gesa Field at Martin Stadium, on Sept. 9 for the WSU-Wisconsin game. Then, from Sept. 11–14, the food truck is planning to make stops at Gesa branches in Spokane as part of the promotion that includes ways the credit union’s members and others can earn free Cougar Gold.
“We’re grateful for the support Gesa is providing the WSU Creamery,” said John Haugen, who manages the Creamery on the Pullman campus. “Cougar Gold has been featured in top culinary publications and is recognized internationally as among the finest sharp cheddars ever made and we’re pleased that this partnership can bring even more attention.”
Gesa’s sponsorship of the WSU Creamery enhances a strong partnership between the credit union and the university. In 2021, Gesa secured the naming rights to the playing surface inside Martin Stadium on the Pullman campus.
