BHU RECEIVES INDIA RESEARCH EXCELLENCE – CITATION AWARD 2023

Banaras Hindu University has received the India Research Excellence – Citation Award 2023 for its outstanding contribution to research. The prestigious award, presented by Clarivate, was received by Dr. D. K. Singh, Librarian, Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Central Library, BHU, at New Delhi. The Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Central Library offers a large range of books, research journals and reference material to the students, researchers, faculty members and staff of the university. It is one of the largest University Library systems in India.

Expressing happiness on the award, Dr. D. K. Singh said that the award is a shining acknowledgement of the great work being done by the library. He informed that the library was also presented the Best Library award by the Indian Librarian Association.

The India Research Excellence – Citation Awards 2023 are based on the analysis of data compiled from the Web of Science citation database. The analysis considered highly cited research publications in addition to a series of other bibliometric indicators and a qualitative review of the research output. An expert panel at the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) took the metrics and qualitative review into consideration when awarding the recipients.

The 2023 awards are based on analysis of publication output during 2017 to 2022. This year nine researchers and 11 institutions have been presented the research excellence awards.
