Formation of the Yak Chauri Farmers’ Federation Nepal

Yaks are central to the identity and livelihoods of high mountain communities. Today, 11 district-level yak associations came together to formally announce the formation of the Yak Chauri Farmers’ Federation Nepal.The Federation will articulate the issues of yak herders, diversification of yak-based livelihoods, and explore ways to sustain yak herding in a fast-changing world. The event was organised by ICIMOD, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
