Seminar on Education in France

 

ALIGARH : The Training and Placement Office (General), Aligarh Muslim University organized a seminar on “Education in France” at the Conference Hall, University Polytechnic, in association with the Campus France, Embassy of France, New Delhi, a French government agency operating under the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research to promote higher education across the globe.

AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez urged the university students to explore the wide spectrum of higher education opportunities in French universities and learn French to directly search such avenues in France that appear in magazines and online in French.

He assured all help and support to Campus France, available under the purview of the UGC regulations, for exploring prospects for joint educational and exchange programmes to popularize French language learning in AMU.

Ms. Shubhra Sharma, the representative of Campus France, expressed France government’s commitment to promoting higher education at its institutions for global learners and highlighted France’s status as a premier study-abroad destination, with one in three of the world’s top 100 prestigious higher education institutions located in the country.

She stressed the importance of learning the French language for students interested in studying in France, as it plays a pivotal role in gaining admission to reputable French institutions.

Ms Sharma also highlighted various scholarships offered by the French government, especially for Indian students, including the Eiffel scholarship and the Charpak scholarship, which provide essential support for students pursuing their studies abroad.

She welcomed questions from students interested in studying in France and provided guidance for applying at specific universities, exploring preferred courses, and accessing university prospectuses, using their websites.

Earlier, Mr Saad Hameed, TPO (General), welcomed the Campus France team and discussed the significance of exchange programmes in universities worldwide.

Dr. Suhalia Parveen, Assistant TPO (General), coordinated the seminar and introduced the guest speaker.

She discussed the significance of internships and emphasized how important an internship experience in a field of expertise is for gaining an edge over those who do not have such experience.
