Narayan Rane calls women entrepreneurs to go for digitalisation to help small businesses become resilient and champions of change
New Delhi : Adoption of advanced technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) by women led Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) can servce as a tool for growth for businesses in building their resilient capacity.
“ Adoption of digitalisation by small businesses means having the flexibility to adapt to disruptions and continue their operations. MSMEs are the backbone of India’s economy and play an intrinsic role in India achieving its ambitions of becoming Third largest economy by the year 2030” said Mr Narayan Tatu Rane, Union Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) while speaking at a interactive session on ‘Use of technology & AI to foster growth of women led MSME’s’ organised by FICCI ladies Organisation (FLO) an apex body of businesswomen in the country .
“The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done a lot to improve MSMEs access to financing, information infrastructures and international markets. Providing regulatory, legal and financial frameworks conducive to entrepreneurship and small firms as well as startups has been our priority. Advancement of digital technologies and development of digital service models especially for women led MSME’s offer small businesses enhanced accessibility to business tools.” Mr Rane said.
“The role of innovation in sustaining such momentum, the tech-based acceleration must be central to their ethos. But the dark side of adoption of newer technologies including safeguarding data should also be kept in mind and safeguarded . MSME ministry is open to support setting up of MSME support centre by FICCI ladies in various parts of the country including Pune“ he added
“The continuous nurturing of this sector, along with measures to embrace new technologies and favorable government policies, will be crucial to promoting the MSME sector and positioning them on the world map.FLO has a dedicated vertical , the MSME Assist that aims at providing assistance and support to women entrepreneurs who are looking to start or grow their own MSME businesses.” Said Ms Sudha Shivkumar, National President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO)
“The objective of this cell is to equip women with the necessary tools to succeed in the MSME sector, by providing access to valuable resources, handholding, and mentoring. FLO plans to open Six MSME assist centres for women enterprises in various parts of the country including one in Pune “ said Ms ShivKumar.
