KL Deemed University Secures Spot in India’s Elite 5G Use Case Labs Initiative
New Delhi : KL Deemed to be University, one of India’s premier institutions, is thrilled to announce its selection for the prestigious “100 5G Use Case Labs” initiative designed for academic institutions across India. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has bestowed this honor upon the university’s Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The inauguration took place through an online mode by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the Indian Mobile Congress-2023 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The DoT’s ambitious initiative aims to establish 100 5G Use Case Labs in premier Higher Educational Institutions across India, encompassing all states and union territories. These labs will be instrumental in the development and testing of 5G applications across various sectors like education, agriculture, health, and more. The program is crafted to nurture 5G technology expertise among students and the academic community. It emphasizes creating a platform for academia-industry collaborations and provides access to state-of-the-art 5G test setups for startups and MSMEs. The ultimate vision is to prepare the Indian academic and startup ecosystems for the upcoming 6G technological transition.
