Kyushu University’s Impressive Ascent: Surges in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024
On September 27th, Times Higher Education unveiled the THE World University Rankings for 2024. The rankings are based on their new methodology, which is designed to measure an institution’s performance across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook. Kyushu U jumped up into the 301-350 bracket out of 1,904 institutions across 108 countries and regions, placing seventh among Japanese universities. This is the first time in a decade that Kyushu U has been ranked in the 301-350 bracket. Notably, our outstanding performance in both industry and research quality area contributed to a significant improvement of about 200 places in the rankings compared to last year, making it the largest increase this year for universities in Japan. Kyushu U will continue to improve education and research with our diverse stakeholders and strive for world-class recognition.
