GDC Sidhra organized lecture on the theme of “Say No to Corruption; commit to the Nation” in celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023

 

Government Degree College, Sidhra is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November, 2023 with the theme given by Central Vigilance Commission “Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation”. This will aware the students about working towards instituting corruption free nation and will bring in transparency, maintain absolute integrity and devotion to duty at all times.
On this occasion, Shri Pawan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commandant 4th Battalion Security Jammu urged for taking all measures on preventive vigilance in focus areas recommended by CVC and highlighted the role of the Central Vigilance Commission’s guidelines in achieving fair, ethical and sustainable development. He focused on saying no to corruption by demonstrating our allegiance towards our country. He also urged the students to take advantage of new technologies in enhancing accountability and efficiency. He explained the process of disciplinary proceedings in detail, and described the responsibilities of the Inquiry Officer and Presenting Officer while emphasizing on the relevant provisions of the Constitution and DoPT Rules. Addressing the participants on the essential principles of public procurement, he laid an emphasis on the significance of documenting communication and keeping record while describing the ‘Vivad se Vishwas’ scheme of the Government of India.
The programme was conducted under the overall supervision and able guidance of Prof. Dr. B.B.Anand, Principal GDC Sidhra. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed and concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Punam Rani, HOD History. The event was successfully organized by the joint efforts of Dr. Mussarat Choudhary, HOD Department of Economics and Programme Officer NSS Unit, Dr. Mehmood Ahmed with the support of Prof. Deepa Kak, Dr. Rudrika Khajuria and Dr. Satbir Kour, the members of NSS Unit. Faculty members, Dr. Harpreet Kour, Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Dr. Meesha Bhagat, Dr. Anshu Gupta, Dr. Anu Sharma, Prof. Pooja Sharma, Lect. Ritika Dogra, Dr. Princy Sharma, Dr. Indu Koul, Ms. Ruchika Sudan were also present on the occasion.
