AMU Faculty delivered a talk at IIT Guwahati

Aligarh : Prof. Mohammad Rihan from the department of Electrical Engineering Department and the Founder Director & Coordinator of the Centre for Integrated Green and Renewable Energy, Aligarh Muslim University delivered a talk at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati as part of an International Conference on November 5. Dr. Rihan’s presentation focused on the crucial role of green energy derivatives, specifically Green Hydrogen, in India’s ongoing transition towards sustainable energy sources.

During his address, Dr. Rihan delved into the challenges posed by the “duck curve” and the “canyon curve” in green energy adoption and shed light on the national green hydrogen mission. He also highlighted recent regulatory changes related to time-of-day tariff structures in the country, which can significantly impact energy consumption patterns.

Dr. Rihan emphasized on the necessity of multidisciplinary collaboration to drive the transition to green energy effectively. He shared the experience of implementing solar energy solutions at AMU and discussed the innovative M.Tech. program on Green Energy and Sustainable Development, a collaboration between the university and the National Institute of Solar Energy under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.

He also chaired a technical session during the conference.
