Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas observed

ALIGARH  : Observing the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas, a plantation drive was launched at the Aftab Hall of residence, Aligarh Muslim University, with a number of saplings planted by the chief guest, Prof Mohammad Asim Siddiqui (Chairman, Department of English) and the guest of honour, Prof B.P. Singh (Department of Physics).

Prof Faiyazur Rahman, Provost of the Hall, informed that the saplings of a variety of trees were planted on this occasion.

The objective of the exercise was to enhance the green cover of the university in consonance with the occasion, the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas, which celebrates the contribution of tribal people in nation building, said Prof Rahman.

The wardens of different hostels, including Dr Shafiqullah, Dr Mohd Sohrab Khan, Dr Zakir Husain, Dr Zafarul Hasan, Dr Faiyaz Haider and Dr Murshid Kamal, along with Abdul Moeed (Hall Administrator), Mohd Kamal Ashraf (Senior Food), Ammar Shahid, Abdul Moiz (Senior House, Aftab Hostel) and Mohd Firoz (Senior House, Mumtaz Hostel), and office staff participated in the plantation drive.
