The three-day conclave (14-16 Dec) will focus on “Indian Knowledge systems, Culture and Management. There will be keynote addresses from thought leaders of the country like – Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh Founder, MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank, Dr Tessy Thomas, Former DG Aeronautical Systems, Mr Vineet Jain, MD – Bennett & Coleman Ltd.

Mr Sanjeev Sanyal Member – Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, Government of India said, “As we reflect on the millennia of Indian civilization, the profound influence of its thought resonates across time, shaping the world we witness today. Over the course of human history, India stood as the world’s largest economy, and its ancient wisdom, as found in the Upanishads and Vedantic literatures pollinated much of modern quantum mechanics.

We are now already the world’s fifth largest economy, and if one calculates in GDP terms we are already the world’s third largest economy. In the next 18 months, our economy, measured in dollar terms will be larger than Germany, in about 3 years’ time we will be larger than Japan. For the first time in many centuries, three of the world’s top five economies are now from Asia.”

Further emphasizing this transformative journey, he added, “Now, in the present era, let us harness the power of Indian thought not just as a national treasure but as a global norm. Envision a future where global certifications and ratings, led by Indian companies, set a standard for wisdom and innovation.”

Mr Kinji Saito, head of the Suzuki team which recently collaborated with IIM Kozhikode to bring out a 30-year roadmap for the Japanese auto major spoke on the potential of India and its hugely skilled people. “India has great untapped potential and huge opportunities in its rural hinterland and the right momentum can propel India to lead the world.”

He proposed that India could solve its social and economic issues through ‘Business’ by scaling up entrepreneurship in the informal and unorganized sectors in the country. Speaking further on Suzuki’s learnings from their association with India, he underscored the importance of backing entrepreneurial ventures that increase income of the marginalized geographies through residency programs, the community of social entrepreneurs, and direct investments.

Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode said that Globalizing Indian Thought is Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode’s signature convention which has also now become IIMK’s institutional mission, design principle and the basis of IIMK’s aspiration to be counted among the world’s best thought school.

He said that the human-centric perspective, which differs from the West’s systems-centric view, contributes significantly to India’s achievements in business. He further added that the value and vibrancy of India’s soft power is yet to manifest and the time has finally come for us to rise to our fullest potential, our highest aspiration and make India count at the world stage again!

The event will witness the presentation of more than 100 Research papers along with technical sessions, research paper workshops, panel discussions.
