Foundation Day of ZA Dental College commences with the release of magazine
ALIGARH : The annual foundation day celebrations of Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University commenced with the release of the new issue of the college magazine, Dental Buzz 3.0, which reflects the vibrant academic and extracurricular life of the college.
In his address, the chief guest, AMU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mohd Gulrez said that the ZADC has achieved a prestigious position among dental colleges in India in a short span of time.
The guest of honour, AMU Registrar, Mr Mohammad Imran (IPS) urged the college administration to focus on the upgradation of various services as per the new developments in different fields of dental education.
The Dean, Students’ Welfare, Prof. Abdul Alim acknowledged the vibrancy in college students and appreciated their diverse achievements.
Prof Haris M. Khan, Principal and CMS, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, and Prof Naima Gulrez, Principal, Women’s College also expressed their views, emphasizing the significance of collaborative spirit that enhances the overall educational landscape of the university.
AMU PRO, Mr Omar Saleem Peerzada congratulated the editorial board of the magazine for bringing out an issue that reflects the literary pursuits of the contributors.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, the Principal, ZADC, Prof R K Tewari highlighted the institution’s remarkable journey, emphasizing its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
In another thriving activity at the college, the former students of the 1998 batch gathered at the college to celebrate their reunion, reminiscing the ‘good old days’ that they spent in the college during their studentship.
The event began with a plantation drive, under which the alumni planted saplings at the college premises, adding to its green cover and stressing their commitment to environmental consciousness.
The alumni, now well-established professionals in the field of dentistry, participated in a colourful celebratory evening that was marked with a cake cutting ceremony and presentation of souvenirs to them by senior faculty members, and in a touching gesture of appreciation, the alumni who had travelled from various parts of the world, presented commendation banners and plaques to them. The exchange of tokens symbolized the enduring connection between the alumni and their alma mater.
Earlier, welcoming the old students, Principal, ZADC, Prof R K Tewari said that the reunion serves as a platform for the alumni to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the successes and milestones achieved since their graduation in 1998. It is a cherished day for us to share, remember and reaffirm our strong ties that bind the old students together with their alma mater.
