Ural Federal University Announces Student of the Year 2023

On December 20, the final of the Student of the Year 2023 award took place in the auditorium of the main building of UrFU. The competition, in which students compete for the main title and victory in one of 12 nominations, has been held at the university annually since 2016. Pavel Antonov, a fourth-year student of the Institute of Physics and Technology, became the winner of the Grand Prix and received a laptop. In addition, Pavel won in the nomination “Innovator of the Year”. As part of his project, he was developing a gel for smoking cessation.

“What is the Student of the Year award for you? For me, it is an event where you can go through student life, experience it. Everyone can be here on the stage, we are no different, someone is probably a little more persistent”, said Pavel at the ceremony.

During the two months of the project, the participants have come a long way: they attended many trainings and workshops, developed and implemented social projects in teams, as well as developed individual projects, that are aimed at improving the student body.

• “Mentor of the Year”: Yana Mosina (third year, IRIT-RTF)
• “Breakthrough of the Year”: Nikita Korsun (second year, HTI)
• “Developing University”: Alina Barskaya (fourth year, UrIH)
