PM Modi to inaugurate 27th National Youth Festival at Nashik, Maharashtra today

In Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra will inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik to mark National Youth Day on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda tomorrow. The theme of the four-day festival is ‘Viksit Bharat@ 2047: युवा के लिए, युवा के द्वारा’.

Later, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri – Nhava Sheva Atal Setu’. Earlier, Mr. Modi had laid the foundation stone of the bridge in December 2016. Built at a cost of over 17,840 crore rupees, the 21.8 kilometre long, six-lane bridge is expected to provide faster connectivity from Mumbai to Pune, Goa and South India. Notably, it is the longest sea bridge in India.

To round off his visit, Mr. Modi will address a public gathering in Navi Mumbai, where he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than 12,700 crore rupees. These include the foundation stone for the underground road tunnel connecting Eastern Freeway’s Orange Gate to Marine Drive, the inauguration of the first phase of the Surya Regional Bulk Drinking Water project, Phase 2 of the Uran-Kharkopar railway line and a new suburban station ‘Digha Gaon’ on the Thane-Vashi/Panvel Trans-harbour line.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate ‘Bharat Ratnam’, a Mega Common Facilitation Centre for the Gems and Jewellery sector at Santacruz Electronic Export Processing Zone- Special Economic Zone (SEEPZ SEZ). The Prime Minister will launch Namo Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyaan, which aims to empower women in the State by providing skill development training and exposure to entrepreneurship development.
