Queen Mary University Deepens Partnership with OP Jindal Global University

Queen Mary has worked with JGU since 2014. JGU was our first partner institution in India and has grown rapidly in strength and stature since its inception in 2009: it has been ranked no. 1 Private University in India by QS for the last three years and it one of a small group of universities designated an Institute of Eminence by the Ministry of Education in India.

A large delegation led by the President and Principal from Queen Mary visited JGU on 13 February. As part of the visit, new modes of collaboration were discussed and academics from 4 different schools met their counterparts to discuss opportunities. Two of our academics gave presentations to students, and in addition, Professor Colin Bailey signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between QMUL and OP Jindal Global University (JGU) in Delhi. This MoU, in Psychology, is the first progression agreement between Queen Mary’s Faculty of Science and Engineering and JGU – and the fifth agreement between Queen Mary and JGU since the start of their collaboration in 2014.

Queen Mary’s President and Principal, Professor Colin Bailey, said: “As our longest-standing partner in India, OP Jindal Global University and Queen Mary share a special bond. JGU is an excellent higher education institution and is at the vanguard of India’s educational development. Both we and JGU are keen to further develop our partnership, as evidenced by the visit today. Professor Raj Kumar and his team extended an incredibly warm welcome to us today and I feel we share an eagerness to see our collaboration going from strength to strength.”
