Chhattisgarh successfully controlled the spread of COVID-19 by taking all the precautionary measures of WHO and Central Government
New Delhi: COVID-19 has caused lots of disturbance in the country which lead to a situation of lockdown in the entire nation. Chhattisgarh which is located in the center of the country has successfully controlled the spread of this virus in their state by stringently following all precautionary measures directed by WHO and Central Government said Shri Amarjeet Bhagat, Hon’ble Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Protection & Planning &Statistics, Culture, Government of Chhattisgarh in an Interactive Video Conference organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries on 23rd April 2020.
The session witnessed a participation of more than 100 industry stakeholders and senior members of PHD Chamber from Pan India.
Shri Amarjeet Bhagat, Hon’ble Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Protection & Planning & Statistics, Culture, Government of Chhattisgarh, thanked PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for being at the forefront and being supportive towards the government in these critical times. He invited to PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries to promote investments in processing units of State’s forest produce like Tendu leaves, Imli, Lakh, etc.
Shri Amarjeet Bhagat informed that Chhattisgarh has taken all the precautionary measures given by the Central Government and WHO and implementing measures of social distancing, sanitization, and others to keep maximum people uninfected from this virus.
Shri Amarjeet Bhagat highlighted that the Government was ensuring not a single person will remain hungry in the State by supplying 2 month’s rations to all, even those who don’t have a ration card. Despite the terrain of the State, ration and food supplies were reaching to all 12,308 PDS shops in the state.
Our state is located in the heart of the country. We have the potential to grow ourselves and we welcome industries to set up their plants and factories and help them grow profitably. We have also expanded ourselves in industries like healthcare, travel, aviation, and many more said Shri Amarjeet Bhagat.
The session was followed by the question and answer round were many industry members raised their queries regarding the challenges they are faced by them. Shri Amarjeet Bhagat took note of all the queries and assured that they will be resolved at the earliest.

He also appreciated the measures by the Ministry of Chhattisgarh for controlling the spread of COVID-19 in their country.
Mr. Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary-General, congratulated Shri Amarjeet Bhagat for setting an example and learning for other Indian states in controlling the spread of this pandemic through ‘Chhattisgarh mode’l of fighting COVID-19. He also delivered the Vote of thanks to Shri Amarjeet Bhagat.
