“Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” Campaign: Educating & Empowering Young Voters
Aligarh : A series of programs were conducted under the banner of the “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” campaign, both online and offline, at Aligarh Muslim University aimed to create awareness among the masses, particularly the students about the importance of voting in shaping the destiny of the nation.
At AMU City Girls’ High School the campaign featured a diverse range of activities designed to engage and educate participants on various aspects of democratic participation. These included: Essay Writing Competition: Participants were invited to express their thoughts on the theme “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye,” encouraging introspection and dialogue on the significance of the first vote. Online Debate Competition: A platform for discourse was provided with the topic “Are reforms needed in the current voting system?” fostering critical thinking and constructive discussion on electoral processes. Online Quiz Competition: Exploring the theme “Democracy and Elections after 1947,” participants tested their knowledge on historical and contemporary electoral dynamics. Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition: With the theme “Right to Vote,” participants showcased their creativity in advocating for the fundamental democratic right of every citizen. Digital Content Making: Through various digital mediums, participants highlighted the theme “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye,” utilizing modern tools to amplify the message of electoral participation.
Teaching Staff from CGHS ; Ms. Tehmina Ashraf, Ms. Samia Hamid, Ms. Rifa Nasir, and Ms. Kaneez Fatima played roles in guiding and assisting the students throughout the campaign
Dr. Md. Alamgir, the Principal CGHS, commended the efforts of the students and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in nurturing responsible citizenship and building a robust democratic culture within the society.
