Anti Drug and Rehabilitation Cell GDC Sidhra organised Awareness Program on Prevention and Treatment of Tobacco and Drug Addiction

GDC Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Viksit Bharat @2047 organised an Awareness Program on Prevention and Treatment of Tobacco and Drug Addiction in collaboration with SPVLG Foundation under the theme ‘NAJAATH’. This organisation is working under the technical guidance of the Department of Health, J&K and is being sponsored by J&K Bank.
The counsellors for the program were Miss Meenakshi and Mr. Jaffer. The program commenced with the formal welcome address by Professor Deepa kak, convener, ADRC. Proceeding further, Miss Meenakshi delivered a lecture to sensitise the students about the menace of drug addiction. She deliberated upon the causes, symptoms and effects of drug addiction. Moving forward, she made the students aware about the steps this organisation is taking for the prevention and rehabilitation of those who have got trapped in the clutches of this grave problem. She advises the students to share this information further so that more and more people can be benefited. The lecture was followed by an interactive session wherein the students raised their queries.The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Professor Shonima Malhotra, member ADRC. The program was organised under the Patronship of Worthy Principal of the college Dr. G.S Rakwal.
