AMU student presents paper at an international conference
ALIGARH : Naved Alam, a postgraduate student in the Department of Mass Communication, Aligarh Muslim University presented a research paper, “Beyond Translation: Understanding Indian Languages through Literature”, at an international conference “India a s a linguistic area with special reference to the non-scheduled languages”, organized by the Department of Linguistics, University of Kashmir, in collaboration with the central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysuru and Society for Endangered and Lesser Known Languages, Lucknow.
The research paper, co-authored by another postgraduate student in the Department of English, Faizur Rehman Sherwani, delves into the intricate tapestry of Indian languages offering English language learners a nuanced understanding through the lens of literature. The study scrutinizes major language families, encompassing southern and Indo-European, alongside lesser-known ones, shedding light on their pivotal role in shaping literary traditions.
