Trinity on the Move Fundraiser Generates Over €10,000 for Student Hardship Funds
With different sport and exercise events taking place on 14 March from 7am-7pm, we saw runners, walkers, cyclists and others take on the challenge throughout the day. Some standouts include the Library Loopers, the Day Nursery’s sponsored walk, Trinity Access Programmes’ team walking from the most distant TAP-linked schools to campus and of course, Registrar Neville Cox taking on a 12-hour cycle outside the Pavilion Bar.
Speaking at the event, Prof Neville Cox, Registrar, said: “People have been fantastic and it’s been an incredibly sociable experience. Over the last two decades I’ve seen so many students whose lives have been saved in the university by the hardship funds and we really want people to donate.”
Aoife Bennett, Welfare Officer, Trinity College Dublin Students Union said, “It’s been great to see everybody come together, and it’s been a lovely day. If anybody can donate as much as you can, it’s going to a really good cause.”
Michelle Tanner, Director of Sport and Physical Activity, Trinity Sport, said, “It’s really exciting to see everybody get involved and come together as Team Trinity. We’re doing this for student hardship funds so we’d really like people to give what you can, whatever you can afford to these worthy causes.”
