Commemorative Programme on the Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Ali on April 1

Aligarh : Continuing with its tradition of honouring the birth and martyrdom anniversaries of Imam Ali with great reverence and respect, the Ali Society at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will organise its annual commemorative programme (Majlis-e-Shahadat) on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali on April 1^st (the 21^st of Ramazan) at 7:30 pm at Baitussalat, AMU.

This year, the guest speaker Maulana Shahwar Kazmi, the Imam-e-Jumma at Rae Bareli, will enlighten the gathering about the teachings of Imam Ali.

Syed Faizul Hasan, Student Coordinator, Ali Society told that each year, the Ali Society celebrates the birth anniversary of Imam Ali as ‘Ali Day’ on the 13^th Rajab (Hijri Calendar), and commemorates the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali on the 21^st of Ramazan, deepening the understanding about Imam Ali in the hearts and minds of all.
