New Dean at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology

ALIGARH : Prof Mirza Salim Beg, Department of Electronics Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology for a period from April 4 to October 28, 2024, the date of his superannuation.

Prof. Beg got a prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship for doing research at Loughborough University, England from where he obtained his Ph.D. for research in the area of Digital Communications over Mobile Channels, after getting his Master of Engineering degree in Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

His academic interests lie in areas of Mobile Communications and Computing, Wireless networks, Multimedia Communications, Computer Networks and Consumer Electronics.

He has more than 180 research publications in journals and conferences of repute. This includes 9 papers in IEEE Transactions (USA). He has delivered a number of short courses and pre-conference tutorials in countries including Malaysia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia and has been on the technical program committee of several international conferences.
