Ural Federal University to Host Business Game on BRICS Topics for Students
The Ural branch of the Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues (G.O.R.K.I.) of St. Petersburg State University may be established in Ekaterinburg, the Ural Federal University is ready to be the site. This was discussed during a meeting between Karin Kneissl, Director of the St. Petersburg State University G.O.R.K.I. Center, and Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.
“I am sure that students will be interested in the BRICS+ model game on the eve of the summit in Kazan. It is possible to organize such a game already in September-October this year,” Kneissl said.
This week, the former Austrian Foreign Minister held a seminar on Russia’s relations with North Africa and West Asia on the material of oil market research, a theoretical and practical seminar for UrFU students and young specialists with a business game in the format of the OPEC+ Ministerial Meeting, as well as lectures on the history of the oil market, geopolitics of the oil industry, evolution of the concept of energy security and the gas industry.
The participants represented the member states of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) during the business game. They were able to discuss the prospects for the development of the global energy and oil and gas sector, as well as the practical activities of the authoritative international organization.
“We gained experience in international negotiations, developed our diplomatic, oratory and leadership skills, and formulated a personal stance on national policy,” participants of the events said.
