King’s Engineering Student Clinches Engineering Student of the Year at Prestigious Awards
King’s student, Lily Gregory was awarded the prestigious Engineering Student of the Year Award at the 2024 Undergraduate of the Year Awards, which celebrate the best of undergraduate talent across the careers and employability arena.
The targetjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards is an annual competition aimed at finding the best undergraduates in the UK. Each award is partnered by a prominent graduate recruiter who provides a fantastic prize for the winner, which could include a paid internship, a trip abroad or other exclusive opportunities.
Lily also channels her passion for education through tutoring, imparting knowledge to younger students in maths and science. Her interest in management consulting and participation in school outreach programs underscore her multifaceted approach to engineering, setting her on a promising trajectory as a future leader in the field.
She beat off competition from nine other finalists in the category and was awarded at a ceremony held at The Pelligon in Canary Wharf last Friday, 26 April. The Awards, run by targetjobs were hosted by Sue Perkins for the third year who opened with a speech about the ‘power of failure’ and saw attendees from employers and university careers teams meet the finalists over lunch.
Congratulations to Lily for the incredible work she’s been doing that has been recognised by this prestigious award – and to Noah and Pia for making the final 10 in their respective categories out of over 5,000 applicants.
Andrew Wright, Associate Director (Employer Engagement & Work-based Learning) who attended the awards ceremony.
