RWTH Aachen Excels in CHE Ranking with Outstanding Results
Dentistry and Computer Science in particular stand out, but the subjects of chemistry, mathematics, and medicine are also consistently in the top tier of the student survey.
The subjects of chemistry, mathematics, medicine, and dentistry are consistently at the top of the student survey in the current ranking conducted by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE). The Centre has now published the results of this survey in the current ZEIT Study Guide. Dentistry at RWTH stands out in a nationwide comparison, as does Computer Science, which is in the top group in 14 out of 15 categories and is right at the top in the NRW comparison.
In this year’s edition, the subjects of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, geography, geosciences, political science, sociology, medicine, and dentistry were assessed. The core of the ranking is a survey of students in which they were asked questions about their studies, the University’s facilities, and the teaching staff. These questions were then rated on the basis of 5 stars, from 1 star for very poor to 5 stars for very good, and they were then summarized into various indicator categories.
The organization of studies at the University was rated best by the students. For all the subjects included in the survey, this was listed in the highest category. The students made positive mention of the support provided by lecturers and the general study situation for almost all subjects. The results of the survey are generally very positive for RWTH. Support at the beginning of the course was also rated as being very good for all subjects surveyed.
