Tsinghua University Leadership Team Visits Zhejiang, Participates in Young Alumni Symposium
Tsinghua News Network, June 6: On June 3, Guo Yong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, led a delegation to visit Zhejiang and attended a symposium with representatives of Tsinghua University’s selected students and young talents in Zhejiang. Wang Cheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department, met with Guo Yong and his delegation.
Wang Cheng welcomed Guo Yong and his delegation, and expressed his gratitude to Tsinghua University for its long-term concern and support for Zhejiang’s development. Wang Cheng pointed out that the whole province is deeply implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during his inspection of Zhejiang, continuing to promote the “Eight Eight Strategy” to go deeper and more practical, vigorously promoting innovation, deepening reform, tackling tough problems and opening up, and comprehensively strengthening the construction of the “three teams” with a “big talent view”, striving to create a highland for party building in the new era and a highland for scientific and technological innovation that all kinds of talents yearn for. It is hoped that both the province and the university will stick to the blueprint and continue to deepen strategic cooperation, especially talent cooperation. It is expected that more outstanding Tsinghua students will come to Zhejiang, take root in Zhejiang, and contribute to Zhejiang, and contribute their youthful strength to bravely be pioneers and write a new chapter.
Guo Yong reviewed the cooperation between the province and the university and the transfer of talents, and thanked Zhejiang for its support for Tsinghua University’s various undertakings, especially its support for talent work. He said that the province and the university have a good foundation for cooperation, and have carried out in-depth cooperation in strategic decision-making consultation, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, talent training and exchange, and now have developed into a model of cooperation between the province and the university. In recent years, Zhejiang’s various talent attraction policies have been continuously optimized, attracting a large number of outstanding talents to work and start businesses in Zhejiang. Tsinghua University will give full play to its advantages in talent training, closely follow Zhejiang’s pioneering spirit, write a new chapter, a new positioning and a new mission, and take multiple measures to provide a steady stream of talent support for Zhejiang’s pioneering Chinese-style modernization.
At the symposium of Tsinghua University’s selected students and young talents in Zhejiang, 18 young alumni shared their experiences of working and starting businesses in Zhejiang. On behalf of the university, Guo Yong expressed his gratitude to Zhejiang for its care, love, support and help for Tsinghua graduates, and expressed his greetings and expectations to the young alumni. He hoped that everyone would strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and become learners, practitioners and propagandists of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; they should persist in taking root at the grassroots level and grow their talents in the process of serving the people; they should adhere to integrity and honesty, overcome impetuous mentality, and work hard. Alumni have said that their growth and career development are inseparable from the follow-up care of their alma mater and the continued training of Zhejiang, and they will continue to uphold the Tsinghua spirit and create new and greater achievements in this hot land of Zhejiang.
