SPbPU Hosts Day of Russian Language for International Students
The Russian Language Day at the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University was held by foreign students.
On this day, instead of traditional classes, students visited thematic sections: «Russian Folk Art», «Fun Hour», «Russian Speech Etiquette», «Planet Earth — Our Common Home», «Russian Cuisine», «St. Petersburg and Russian Culture», which made up the main part of the program.
As part of the official ceremony, a concert was organized on the main stage of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, which was attended by students from China, Nigeria, Thailand, Ecuador, Turkmenistan, Zambia and other countries.
Director of the Russian-Arab Center for Cooperation, Ambassador of Russian Education Al-Jundi Waddah recalled his studies at the preparatory faculty of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute and his work at the Institute of International Educational Programs.
Director of the Turkmen Society «MECAN» in St. Petersburg Nurgeldi Seyidov congratulated everyone on the holiday and emphasized the special importance of the Russian language for further successful studies and career.
According to Yulia Kumbasheva, head of the Russian Language Center, the event dedicated to the most important day of the year was held at a high level.
Victor Krasnoshchekov, Director of the Higher School of International Educational Programs, expressed his gratitude to all the staff of the university for their well-coordinated teamwork, commitment to their work, as well as for their active participation in the promotion of the Russian language and culture.
International students of HSIEP who took part in dance, song, theater and other stage numbers shared that in Russia they like «beautiful buildings», «Nevsky Prospekt», «Russian culture», «music», «Russian girls», «nature», «Russian cuisine» and «President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin».
After the Concert, the guys took part in a raffle for excursions to St. Petersburg at night and to the city of Pushkin.
