University of Warwick Receives Campus Experience of the Year Award
The University of Warwick has won ‘Campus Experience of the Year’ at the College and University Business Officers (CUBO) awards following a successful relaunch of its graduation ceremonies.
The post-pandemic return to campus, and subsequent opportunity to come back together and reunite and celebrate as an institution, inspired the team at Warwick to transform the graduation ceremony into to ‘Warwick Celebrates’.
Alex Gray, Awards and Ceremonies/Enrolment Manager said, “For a team in the business of handing out awards, we’re thrilled to have received one of our own. Graduation is a team effort, with colleagues throughout the University involved in making it the success that it is.”
A University wide team was established to review graduation ceremonies at universities across the globe. This was used to create a sector leading, memorable experience for Warwick graduates. It followed feedback from thousands of graduates and guests, and hundreds of staff members.
The award recognises the commitment Warwick has to creating an inclusive occasion for everyone taking part in graduation ceremonies.
Sarah Wall, Head of Events & Strategic Projects said “We have put so much effort into making our graduations even more special over the last couple of years, building on how we reimagined the catch-up ceremonies post pandemic.
“It’s fantastic to see what we do has been recognised across the sector – so many teams from across the whole of Warwick are involved in making graduation happen. In the months running up to summer and winter so much work is done behind the scenes and it really does make a difference.”
The CUBO Awards highlight the excellent work done to provide great student and campus experiences, leading and promoting excellence in the development of campus life, services and the student experience.
The University of Warwick’s Campus and Commercial Services Group were also shortlisted for Best Marketing CampaignLink opens in a new window, they created a Welcome Week campaign to showcase the campus services and experiences they offer to help students settle into university life, meet new friends and support their wellbeing.
