POSTECH’s Professor Gil-Ho Lee Receives 2024 7th Hanseong Science Award

Professor Gil-Ho Lee of the Department of Physics at POSTECH has been selected as the winner of the Hanseong Science Award in Physics by the Hanseong Sonjaehan Scholarship Foundation.

Professor Lee was honored for expanding the horizons of non-equilibrium quantum mechanics research in solid systems by developing a method to continuously generate a Floquet state in which the original quantum state is replicated in a superconductor quantum device.

Dr. Lee, who earned his bachelor’s degree in physics and chemistry, master’s degree in physics, and doctorate in physics from POSTECH, has been teaching at POSTECH since 2017. He is currently a member of Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology (Y-KAST), and was awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2022. In 2023, he was selected as one of the 100 National Research and Development Excellence Achievements by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Hanseong Science Award was established to recognize and reward young scientists with great potential for future development, and winners receive a plaque and a prize of 50 million won each. The award ceremony will be held on August 11 at the YBM Training Center.
