Nanjing University Secretary Tan Tianniu Meets Jiangsu Social Work Director Tian Hong
On the afternoon of July 2, Nanjing University Party Committee Secretary and Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Tan Tianniu met with Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee Social Work Department Director and Provincial Party Committee “Two New” Working Committee Secretary Tian Hong and his delegation at Xianlin Campus. Tan Tianniu welcomed Tian Hong and his party on behalf of the university. He pointed out that in order to fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important requirements for Jiangsu’s work and the spirit of his important reply to young scholars who returned from studying abroad at Nanjing University, the university issued the “Nanjing University Comprehensive Support for Chinese Modernization Jiangsu New Practice Action Plan”, referred to as the “7291” action plan. Through the implementation of 7 major plans, it will focus on promoting 29 key tasks and greatly enhance the ability to serve Jiangsu’s high-quality development. In the future, Nanjing University will further shoulder the mission and responsibility of a 120-year-old university, make full use of the school’s professional advantages in social work, strengthen cooperation with the Provincial Party Committee’s Social Work Department, and work hand in hand to make due contributions in talent training, team building, and other aspects.
Tian Hong comprehensively introduced the work of the Social Work Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee since its establishment, as well as the basic situation of the Party building work of “two enterprises and three new” in Jiangsu Province, and expressed his gratitude to Nanjing University for its support and concern. He said that Nanjing University has a long history and strong strength, and is a 120-year-old famous university that General Secretary Xi Jinping has high hopes for. He hopes to take this symposium as an opportunity to transform the school’s advantages in social work, scientific research, talent training, etc. into advantages in serving the development of Jiangsu, and further deepen the school-local cooperation in cooperation forms, cooperation content, and mechanism guarantees, and jointly seek and build.
Chen Yunsong introduced the advantages of liberal arts at Nanjing University and the achievements of liberal arts work. He said that General Secretary Xi Jinping, in his reply to the young scholars who returned from overseas, encouraged the returned young people to “achieve greater success in upholding moral education and promoting scientific and technological self-reliance, and to set an example in strengthening cultural confidence and telling Chinese stories well “ . At the meeting, Ye Zhiyong, deputy director of the Social Work Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, specifically introduced the intention of cooperation between the school and the local government. The participants had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development of liberal arts, social work, and achievement transformation.
After the meeting, Tian Hong and his delegation also visited the School of Social Sciences of Nanjing University.
