DD Robocon India 2024: Nirma University from Gujarat Wins Robotics Competition; Maharashtra’s Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering Secures Runner-up Position

New Delhi: DD Robocon 2024, one of the most anticipated robotics competitions of the year hosted by IIT Delhi in association with Prasar Bharati, concluded with resounding success, showcasing innovation, teamwork, and technological prowess among participating teams.
The event, held at Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium on July 13–14, brought together robotics enthusiasts from across India to compete and demonstrate their skills in a thrilling display of talent and creativity. This year’s competition saw intense competition among 46 teams, each pushing the boundaries of robotic design and functionality.
After rounds of rigorous challenges, the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, emerged victorious, claiming the championship title.
The winning team will represent India at the international ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) Robocon 2024, which will take place in QuangNinh, Vietnam, on August 25, 2024.
Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra, secured the runner-up position, demonstrating exceptional performance and determination throughout the competition.
“This year’s competition has set new benchmarks in robotics excellence, and we congratulate Nirma University for their outstanding performance,” said Prof. S.K. Saha, IIT Delhi.
“The dedication displayed by all the participating teams at DD Robocon 2024 and their innovation in creating autonomous robots for this challenge is a display of the technical advancements these students are making in robotic technology,” said Prof. Sunil Jha, IIT Delhi.
Being the winner of the DD Robocon 2024, the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, has got an opportunity to participate in the IHFC-READY Program, an initiative that supports and nurtures aspiring entrepreneurs on their path to innovation and business development. IHFC ( I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics) is Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi.
In addition to the main competition, DD Robocon 2024 featured a series of engaging events and activities aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration in the field of robotics.
Robocon promotes technical skill development, innovation, and teamwork among engineering students, providing visibility and recognition in the field of robotics.
