Short update programme held on Aortic valve lesions

ALIGARH : The Department of Cardiology, J.N. Medicla College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a short update programme on recent advances in management of Aortic valve lesions and diseases of Aorta.

Dr Amit Chaurasia, eminent Cardiologist and pioneer on transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and noted CTVS surgeon, Dr Sushant Srivastava from Artemis Hospital, Gurugram spoke on new methods to deal with pathologies of Aortic valve and Aorta.

Prof Asif Hasan, Chairman, Department of Cardiology emphasized the need to organize such updates on regular basis as they not only enrich DM students and staff academically but also help in boosting our programme on structural heart diseases, especially related to Aortic Valves and great vessels.

He said that two cases of Aortic dissection have recently been done with Endovascular technique by Prof Malik Azharuddin, which has given way to such procedures at the J.N. Medical College.
