UrFU Leads the Way in Training the Next Generation of AI Specialists

Ural Federal University is ranked 7th (B+) in a new ranking of Russian universities on the quality of training of professionals in Artificial Intelligence. The ranking was presented by the Alliance for Artificial Intelligence.

A total of 207 universities from 69 regions of the country were included in the list of the best universities. In 2024, these universities enrolled more than 35 thousand students in specialized training programs in AI.

The key criterion for evaluating the universities was the size of the salary of young specialists within a year of work after graduation. The average salary of AI graduates of the leading universities exceeds 200 thousand rubles.

When preparing the ranking, the analytical base was compiled from data gathered from open sources, results of surveys, data on graduates’ salaries obtained from Rostrud (Federal Service for Labor and Employment), and data on the Unified State Exam obtained from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The AI Alliance Rankings of Universities was first presented in 2023. In 2024, the Alliance surveyed more than 170 companies from 12 industries, interviewed students and conducted a questionnaire survey of universities. The rankings includes only universities that offer Bachelor’s and/or Specialist degree programs in the field of AI.
