AMU Prepares for Independence Day Celebrations

 

Aligarh : A consultative meeting chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Naima Khatoon, was held today to finalise the celebratory programmes for Independence Day. The meeting took place in the University’s Conference Hall, where various activities were discussed to ensure the event is marked with traditional fervour and enthusiasm.

Prof. Khatoon emphasised the significance of the day, stating, “Independence Day is a momentous occasion that reflects the rise of our Nation. We must prepare diligently to host this celebration with the utmost respect and pride.”

The main event will be held at Strachey Hall on August 15, beginning with the hoisting of the National Flag at 9:11 am, followed by the National Anthem and a Guard of Honour by NCC Cadets. Prof. Khatoon will also deliver an address and plant saplings at Sir Syed Hall North and South.

In keeping with tradition, a mushaira will be held on the eve of Independence Day at the Polytechnic Auditorium.

The meeting was also addressed by AMU Registrar Mohammad Imran (IPS) and Finance Officer Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan. A rehearsal of the celebrations is scheduled for August 14th.

All key functionaries and officials of AMU were in attendance, showcasing the university’s commitment to celebrating this significant national event with due grandeur.
