Nanjing University’s Undergraduate School Hosts Special Study Meeting on Spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee
On the morning of July 25, the Undergraduate College held a special study meeting on the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Wang Jun, Executive Vice Dean of the Undergraduate College and Executive Dean of the Freshman College, presided over the meeting. Directors of various centers attended the meeting and exchanged their learning experiences in light of their own work. Lu Xiancai, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, attended the meeting and delivered a summary speech.
Lu Xiancai particularly emphasized the necessity of studying the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Decision of the CPC Central Committee on Further Comprehensively Deepening Reform and Promoting Modernization with Chinese Characteristics, and pointed out that it is necessary to study in a timely, serious and in-depth manner, and put forward the following three requirements: First, it is necessary to combine key learning with comprehensive learning. The content of the Decision outlines the vision of modernization with Chinese characteristics. Through in-depth study and serious thinking, it is necessary to clarify the position of Chinese higher education in the vision of modernization with Chinese characteristics, and guide the work of the Undergraduate School through comprehensive understanding and key understanding of the content of the Decision; Second, it is necessary to combine the understanding and implementation of the spirit of the document with the actual situation of Nanjing University, and through in-depth study and understanding of the spirit of the document, combine the learning experience with the actual situation of Nanjing University, and further implement it in their own work; Third, it is necessary to combine it with the study of party discipline. Lu Xiancai pointed out that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee clearly put forward a series of far-reaching major conclusions and made a series of major arrangements related to the long-term. It is a general mobilization and general deployment to promote the comprehensive deepening of reform to advance in breadth and depth. At the same time, it further proposed new arrangements and new requirements for the integrated reform of education, science and technology talent systems and mechanisms, which pointed out a new direction for the development of higher education and provided a strong guide for our future work. Chen Lin, Director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, Li Xinghua, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Wang Dong, Director of the General Office (Data Center), Shi Linmiao, Director of the Education and Teaching Development and Evaluation Center, Pan Bai, Director of the Teaching Operation Service Center, and Chen Changkai, Director of the Mental Health Education and Research Center, made exchanges on learning and implementing the spirit of the plenary session and combining it with their own work.
