Nanjing University: Party Branch of United Front Work Department Focuses on Third Plenary Session of 20th CPC Central Committee
On July 28, the Party Branch of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee held a special organizational life in the form of a video conference, focusing on the theme of “Studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and promoting management quality and efficiency through reform and innovation”. Yang Zhong, the executive deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the University, participated in the discussion as an ordinary party member and provided important guidance. Jiao Ruihua, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University, Minister of the Organization Department and Minister of the United Front Work Department, attended the discussion as an observer.
Yang Zhong stressed that it is necessary to comprehensively and thoroughly implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, strengthen ideological and political guidance, and guide the majority of united front cadres and members to quickly set off a wave of learning and implementing the spirit of the plenary session; it is necessary to fully understand the essence of the spirit of the plenary session, grasp the theme, major principles, major measures, and fundamental guarantees for further deepening reform in an all-round way, and more importantly, accurately grasp the reform matters and target requirements in this field, unify thoughts and actions with the spirit of the Third Plenary Session, gather people’s strength, and draw the largest concentric circle for further deepening reform in an all-round way. Yang Zhong pointed out that it is necessary to adhere to the principle of keeping the right direction and making innovations, focus on key areas, and promote the improvement of the quality and efficiency of united front work; effectively improve the reform capacity, form a list of problems, tasks, and responsibilities for the reform of united front work, further strengthen the united front awareness of party organizations at all levels, improve the overall united front pattern, and continuously consolidate the foundation of united front work.
Jiao Ruihua said that the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee should further improve its political stance, regard studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee as a major political task at present and in the future, persist in in-depth study and understanding, and strengthen the party’s innovative theoretical armament; it should accurately grasp the requirements of practice, systematically sort out the current shortcomings and weaknesses of the united front work, keep a close eye on key areas and key links in the united front field, prevent and resolve risks and hidden dangers, deeply think about ways and means of reform and innovation, and continuously transform the results of learning into a powerful driving force for promoting high-quality development.
Luo Ping, executive deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee, presided over the study and discussion. She combined the “Communiqué of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China” and the “Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Further Comprehensively Deepening Reforms and Promoting Chinese-style Modernization” to lead the study of the main spirit of the conference, conveyed and studied the spirit and decision-making arrangements of the 15th Plenary Session of the 15th Committee of the Communist Party of China Nanjing University, the 5th Collective Study (Expanded) Meeting of the Theoretical Study Center Group of the Party Committee of the University in 2024, and other school meetings. Focusing on the school’s “Year of Quality and Efficiency Improvement in Management”, she shared her thoughts and suggestions on promoting reform and innovation in ideological and political guidance, team building, ethnic and religious work, united front work for returned scholars and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese, and improving the overall united front pattern.
Li Yuehua, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee, combined the specific work of the department in the first half of the year and made an in-depth analysis of his understanding and ideas on how to unite people, gather strength, and forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. Other party members of the branch also exchanged their learning experiences and expressed their willingness to take the initiative to benchmark and resolutely implement the strategic deployment of the plenary session on united front work, and promote the steady and solid reform measures in the field of united front work in the school to ensure effectiveness.
