AMU students pay rich tribute to Kakori train action heroes

ALIGARH  : The students of different schools of Aligarh Muslim University paid rich tributes to the heroes of Kakori train action that occurred on 9 August 1925, during the Indian independence movement against the British rule in India.

The programme at S.T.S. School began with a Prabhat Pheri, symbolizing the respect and admiration for the martyrs who gave up their lives for the independence of India. The Principal, Mr. Faisal Nafis flagged off the Prabhat Pheri which passed through the university campus with students raining slogans filled with patriotism.

He urged the students to read the stories of our the freedom heroes and take lessons from the stories of their valour and gallantry. He emphasized that the values of courage, determination, and selflessness, which drove these heroes to fight for our nation’s freedom, remain just as relevant in the present era.

A special video presentation was made for the students in the Audio Visual Lab, highlighting the significance of the Kakori Train Action and paying rich tributes to the revolutionaries for their bravery and sacrifices.

Dr. Tanweer Husain Khan (Vice Principal) highlighted the details of the Kakori Train Action.

Ms. Nasreen Fatima, Mr. Mohd Adnan Khan, Mr. Mohammad Asim and Mrs. Ghazala Tanvir played an important role in the smooth conduct of the programme.

Other schools of AMU, including the Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh AMU City School, Saiyid Hamid Senior Secondary School for Boys, Senior Secondary School (Girls), AMU Girls’ School, AMU City Girls’ High School, AMU ABK High School (Boys), AMU ABK High School (Girls), Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged and Abdullah School also organized programmes to pay homage to the martyrs and heroes of the Kakori Train Action who shed their lives to secure independence from the British rule.
